Drone Rules for Real Estate Photography

By Shannon Ortega, Full Frame Media

Flying a drone for a listing is a commercial flight, and the FAA has rules for that. Here is what agents should know.

A license is required

Commercial drone pilots need FAA licensing. If a photographer flies for a listing, ask if they are licensed.

Airspace matters

Some areas, such as those near airports, have restrictions. A licensed pilot knows how to check the airspace and get approval when needed.
