How to Prepare Your Home for Listing Photos
By Shannon Ortega, Full Frame Media
A little preparation makes a big difference in how a home looks online. This checklist takes only a few minutes, and it is the same one we share with sellers before a shoot.
Before we arrive
- Move cars out of the driveway, into the garage or down the street.
- Open all blinds and curtains.
- Turn on every light, inside and out.
- Turn off ceiling fans and TVs.
- Put trash cans out of sight.
- Put pet bowls, beds and litter boxes away, and plan for pets to be out of the house or crated.
Valuables and privacy
- Put away cash, jewelry, medications and important papers.
- Remove mail and anything with your personal information.
- Lock up firearms, and tell us if there is anything we should not photograph.
For the shoot
- Unlock gates, garages, basements and attics we need to reach.
- Plan to be out of the home during the shoot if you can.
- Keep your phone nearby in case we have a question.
Buyers should see the home, not the owner's belongings, and putting personal items away also protects your privacy.
What happens after
We deliver your photos and video the next day by noon. For answers to common questions about booking and delivery, visit the Help Center. Ready to schedule? You can book a shoot online.
